Wolfenstein 3D is the game that's generally regarded as the main basis of the first person shooters genre on the PCs back in 1992. The game was later converted to other video game systems like the Super Nintendo, the Panasonic 3DO and the Atari Jaguar!

Wolfenstein 3DSTORY / GAMEPLAY
The game's story is set during the World War II. You control an American soldier named William "B.J." Blazkowicz and attempt to escape from a Nazi stronghold named "Wolfenstein" where is believed that the Nazis are doing experiments to create a breed of super-soldiers that will lead them to the great win. Your quest is tough as there are many armed guards around as well as some well trained attack dogs. The game is split into six different missions that are extended into thirty levels. Note that each level is actually a maze that you have to find the exit! There are also a number of hidden rooms inside the prison building, containing a variety of valuables like food supplies and medical kits for your energy levels as well as three different guns and ammunition.

GRAPHICS / SOUND
The game's visuals on the 3DO are not bad, but it seems that only the Jaguar version is closer to the PC original. All of the PC game's gory stuff is present on the 3DO (blood, guts splattered and more). The animation on this version is smooth and flawless, much like the Jaguar and the PC. The sound effects were also converted nicely and include sampled voices, a nice background music and other assorted sound effects that fit well to the game's atmosphere.
